Description Of Hastelloy C276 Pipe Fittings:
Hastelloy C276 alloy is a tungsten-containing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that is considered a versatile corrosion-resistant alloy because of its extremely low silicon-carbon content. This alloy is resistant to wet chlorine, various oxidizing, chloride salt solution, sulfuric acid, and oxidizing salt. Also, it has good corrosion resistance in low and medium-temperature hydrochloric acid. Nickel alloy has anti-corrosive properties. In reductive conditions, these alloy fittings are resistant to oxidation due to the presence of chromium in the alloy.
During welding, the nickel Hastelloy these pipe resists the formation of grain boundary precipitation in the heat-affected areas. These alloy C276 pipes resist corrosion from various media like – hot contaminated organic and inorganic acids like chlorine, formic acid, chlorine dioxide solutions, acetic acids, acetic anhydride, seawater, brine, and hypochlorite.
Table of Content
Composition of Hastelloy C276 Pipe Fittings:
Alloy C276 is an austenitic nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy, and it has an addition of a tungsten element. It is a mixture and composition of elements like molybdenum, chromium, iron, cobalt, manganese, copper, vanadium, phosphorus, silicon, and sulfur.
Properties of Hastelloy C276 Pipe Fittings:
It has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media in the condition of oxidation and reduction. Also, it has excellent resistance to corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is suitable for different chemical industries containing oxidation and reducing media. The content of these alloy shows resistance to chloride ion erosion, and the tungsten elements in the alloy help improve its corrosion resistance. It has excellent corrosion resistance, pitting, chlorine stress cracking, and crevice corrosion due to the addition of molybdenum and tungsten.
Application of Hastelloy C276 Pipe Fittings:
Hastelloy C276 Fittings find applications in biotech, pollution control, dairy, food, beverage, brewery, home & personal care, waste treatment, and recovery of sour natural gas, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
