The addition of titanium in Stainless Steel 321 Ferrule Fittings provides enhanced resistance to scaling and intergranular corrosion, making it superior to other grades like 304 or 316 materials. This is due to the elimination of chromium carbide formation at the grain boundaries, which occurs by binding carbon and nitrogen as a nitride. Processing is done only with stainless-steel tools like brushes, pneumatic picks, and other similar tools.

Stainless Steel 321 Ferrule Fittings have similar features to Stainless Steel 316 Ferrule Fittings but with higher nickel content and are stabilized with titanium. One of its unique properties is that it can be used in solutions of up to 10% concentration at high temperatures. These fittings cannot be hardened by heat treatment and can only be cold-worked. They can also be easily welded and processed through standard manufacturing processes.
Stainless Steel 321H Ferrule Fittings are prone to pitting and crevice corrosion in warm chloride surroundings. However, they also exhibit resistance to stress corrosion cracking above 60 °C.
The composition of Stainless Steel 321 Ferrule Fittings consists of various chemical elements, including carbon (0.08 max), manganese (2.0 max), silicon (1.0 max), phosphorus (0.045 max), sulfur (0.030 max), chromium (17.00 – 19.00), nitrogen (0.10 max), nickel, and titanium.
