Properties of 321H Instrumentation Valves
321H instrumentation valves offer excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures of up to 1500 degrees F and more. It also has better stress and creeps rupture features than other metal alloys. This material also possesses good low-temperature toughness, making it suitable for extreme environments. Moreover, it has a high carbon content, indirectly enhancing its tensile strength and creep resistance at a 1000-degree F temperature range.
Another unique property of 321H instrumentation valves is that they contain titanium, stabilizing the alloy against chromium carbide formation. This feature makes them ideal for hydrocarbon services, where they resist polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking. They are also helpful in fluoride-free caustic solutions at normal temperatures.
Table of Content
In terms of manufacturing, 321H instrumentation valves have good ductility and formability. They can be manufactured using standard shop fabrication practices, with cold working techniques employed to achieve desired shapes and sizes. These valves are also known for their high tensile strength, good mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, and fine surface finishes.
321H instrumentation valves are made from Stainless Steel 321 / 321H, a stabilized austenitic steel alloy. The alloy is composed of 18% chromium and 8 % nickel elements, with the addition of titanium for excellent resistance to cracking corrosion. This austenitic alloy is commonly used in various production applications, offering good general resistivity against rust. It also resists intergranular corrosion when exposed to 425 degrees C to 815 degrees C of carbide precipitation.
The unique properties of 321H instrumentation valves have made them a preferred choice, like SS 317 Instrumentation Valves for many industrial and critical applications. These valves find utility in different industries, such as oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, etc. They are commonly used in regulating and controlling the flow of fluids, gases, and liquids in pipes and other fluid handling systems.
Kalp Industries, a prominent exporter, manufacturer, and supplier of high-quality ranges of Stainless steel 321 / 321H Instrumentation Valves, offers customized valves to clients in various industries. These valves are designed and manufactured to meet different applications’ unique needs and requirements. The company has ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system, demonstrating its ability to consistently provide high-quality products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
