Adding Ni to Cu enhances strength and corrosion resistance while maintaining rigidity. Copper nickel alloy is a lesser resistivity alloy that may be utilized at temperatures up to 300° C and 570° C. The alloy is most often used in heat applications. These alloys are also suitable for control resistors and thermocouples due to their medium resistivity and low degree of resistance. Cu with 10 percent nickel, Cu with 30% Ni, Cu with 25 percent Nickel, and 0.05-0.4 percent manganese, Cu with 45 percent Nickel. Other components can be added to copper-nickel alloy valves to enhance strength, corrosion resistance, Annealing, weldability, and casting ability.
